Most software companies require payment for upgrades and ongoing support, some up to the full price of the original software if you did not purchase within the last year or two. Others, such as Adobe, now charge annual subscription fees just to use their software, which I know most people do not like.
I’m an independent developer and have been offering PhiMatrix since 2004 for a one-time purchase cost. I want to be fair to you, but I’m finding that a one-time payment for the customer with support time and costs that go on for many years isn’t a good business model for me.
Accordingly I’d like to ask for your support in one of two ways.
